David Leavitt

David Leavitt is a seasoned executive with extensive experience across various leadership roles and industries. In 2019, he founded CxO Advisory, LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to empowering small and medium-sized organizations. Leveraging his background as an executive coach and fractional COO/CFO, David collaborates closely with businesses to optimize their values, results, and return on investment. His expertise lies in integrating people and processes to shape companies’ vision and strategy, as evidenced during his tenure as Chief Operating Officer of Petroleum Equipment Inc in Kansas City, where he played a pivotal role from 2021 to 2024.

Before establishing CxO Advisory, David held executive positions at The Victor L. Phillips Company and Koch Industries. At The Victor L. Phillips Company, he served as Chief Financial Officer and later as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice-Chairman of the Board. His contributions spanned diverse functions, including banking, finance, IT, HR, marketing, and operations. With Koch Industries, David made significant impacts within subsidiaries such as Koch Hydrocarbons and Koch Fertilizer Group, applying the Market-Based Management (MBM) model in roles ranging from Senior Auditor to Group Controller and Business Development Manager.

Beyond his professional commitments, David is deeply involved in community impact and leadership roles. As Chairman of the Board at Cornerstones of Care and Vice-Chairman of the Board at Ozanam, he led strategic planning, fundraising, and operational mergers, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing the well-being of at-risk youth and families. Additionally, David actively contributed to the Kansas City Chapter of Financial Executives International, serving on the board and as President. His service extends to personal endeavors, including coaching youth sports and developing Boy Scouts. He also enjoys engaging in recreational activities such as hiking, golf, and pickleball.
